I feel much calmer before exams now and I have learnt about what triggers my anxiety and when I am getting stressed so that I can then practice the tips you have taught me. My headaches have gone too since I've stopped getting so worried about things

Thanks ever so much for seeing my daughter last night, she's come away much more like her old self! She sat downstairs with us for most of the evening and seemed relaxed and contented, she ate her dinner without issue too.  Clearly it's very early days but just wanted to say thank you and pass on how things were.

The tips on anxiety were really helpful and I especially liked doing the body scan/meditation technique.  The idea for using a little book to write in before bed was really good too.  I’m looking forward to using that.  I also really liked the atmosphere in the room and how calm it was. You have a very soothing voice!

I brought my 10 year old son because he was having trouble getting to sleep. He was unable to identify any particular worries about school or home, but anxiety about falling asleep was undoubtedly an issue Rachael reassured him that other young people experienced the same sort of feelings.  She took him through a relaxation exercise, using breathing techniques to ensure that he took his time. 

After visiting, we have used the relaxation exercise at bedtime, and kept the shell by the bed to receive any noisy thoughts.  My son has been able to fall asleep more quickly, without repeatedly getting up, and is growing in confidence that he can sleep well. 

He says, “The exercises have really helped me fall asleep.  I feel less worried that I will lie awake for a long time.  I feel that things can start getting back to normal."
Thank you for a great session yesterday. I felt that he made another step "towards better nights” with you.
Last night was a lot better : and we both felt a lot happier and more rested this morning.

Max was able to count and  breath deeply on his own and focus on his favourite animal : a monkey.

I wanted to tell you how meditation worked for me this week....

I had a first round interview on Monday (my first interview in years). I was a nervous wreck, heart palpitations, then ended up rambling on when they asked me questions and came out of the interview very disappointed in myself and embarrassed I was so jittery.

Somehow they asked me to come back for second round interviews, but this time I set aside 5 minutes in the morning before leaving for work to meditate, and then concentrated on my breathing on the commute too to stay calm. I was so much more relaxed when I turned up to the interview, it was a completely different experience, I didn't work myself up into a frenzy, and I felt so much happier with the way the interview went because I was able to keep my cool. Even if I don't get the job, I feel much better moving forward knowing I have a mechanism to calm my nerves, which will hopefully, in turn, make me more confident. It's odd because my reason for wanting to learn mindfulness in the first place was for something completely different in my personal life, so to see how it can help in other areas of my life is really motivating me to get better at it.
